Bills of Interest Introduced in Missouri for 2025 Session

The legislative session for 2025 started in early December 2025 with 1000s of pre-filed bills. We have been tracking them all and taking note of those with the most interest to housing providers in the state of Missouri.

Bills we are Watching

  • HB323 – Requires the county recorder to notify each property owner or owner of record when a deed that affects the ownership of the property has been submitted for recording
  • HB343 – Prohibits local governments from requiring private property owners to accept Section 8 vouchers
  • HB595 – Prohibits local governments from requiring private property owners to accept Section 8 vouchers
  • HB938 – Establishes provisions relating to the reporting of positive rental payment information to a consumer reporting agency
  • HB823 – Prohibits a landlord from evicting a tenant who is a veteran unless illegal conduct occurs on the premises
  • HB253 – Adds provisions relating to a landlord failing to remedy a condition that would materially affect the health and safety of a tenant
  • HB590 – Creates provisions requiring realtors and landlords to provide new residents with voter registration packets
  • SB507 – Provides that counties and cities shall not enact, maintain, or enforce certain ordinances relating to landlords and tenants
